Axis are pleased to be appointed as the BCA & Access Consultant for Landcom’s $30 million social housing development in East Lismore. This project, funded by the NSW Government, aims to deliver much-needed long-term rental housing through the construction of approximately 50 build-to-rent apartments in mid-rise buildings. The development will showcase best-practice design and sustainability, ensuring a safe, energy-efficient, and comfortable living environment. The apartments will cater to a range of household sizes and budgets, providing future residents with easy access to essential amenities such as shops, schools, Southern Cross University, open spaces, and other community infrastructure.

We have been assisting Landcom and the design team with specialist advice as they develop the design and progress towards obtaining planning and construction approvals.

Our role as BCA & Access Consultant, entails providing expert guidance to ensure the design meets all regulatory requirements, across the Building Code of Australia, Australian Standards, Accessibility Standards and the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). As the project progresses we will consult to the design team and principal contractor throughout the construction phase, to assist Landcom’s delivery of a compliant project.
